The historic C.W. Memorial Hospital Building located at 1201 East Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia, originally constructed in 1899, was part of an extensive medical complex that was established in the early 19th century. This 65,900+/- sf masonry structure is comprised of six levels with a sub-basement, walk-out basement to the rear and the remaining four levels located above grade. In 1986, VDOT acquired the hospital building and rehabilitated it for office use. The rehabilitation was planned and carried out with coordination from the Virginia Division of Historic Landmarks and the work was completed in 1990. The former hospital has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since February 24, 2004. Since its last renovation over twenty-four years ago, the structure required maintenance to various exterior surfaces.
